The King of Pop’s older brother is planning a mega tribute to Michael in London this June, and so far he’s managed to rope Justin Timberlake, Prince and Santana in to add star value to the event. The concert will also see Janet Jackson take her big bhaiyya’s place and perform with the Jackson 5, while word on the street has it that Shakira, Usher and Seal will be amongst the other big name acts. It sounds like this is definitely shaping up to be a tribute worthy of the legendary Michael Jackson! |

 Mohit Chauhan won the best male playback singer’s award at the recent Filmfare awards, but you probably don’t realize how big a deal the win is in his home state! See, this is the first time that someone from Himachal Pradesh has won a musical Filmfare, and the emotional musician has dedicated his win to his parents and the people of the region! He says that his home town of Deavbhomi had given him a lot, and the least he could do is acknowledge them in his moment of triumph! In an era when people only think of others when they need them, it’s nice to see Mohit give back while the going’s still good! ! |

 Pritam Chakraborty recently went through quite the ordeal after misplacing his laptop that contains his released, unreleased and half-finished tunes, along with all his financial details! The composer and singer left the machine at the Kolkata airport while he was on his way back to Mumbai from performing at concert there, and was worried sick that someone would get a hold of it and steal all his tunes! Fortunately the laptop was located after a few hours, but that isn’t stopping Pritam from stressing over whether someone intercepted it in that time and downloaded his music! |

Mohit Chauhan’s Fitoor makes it to the no. 6 spot on this week’s race to desi pop bragging rights, and caps off what’s been a wonderful week for the musician! For those of you who don’t know this, the Himachal Pradesh native picked up the best male playback singer’s award at the prestigious 2010 filmfare awards, all thanks to his work on Delhi 6’s track Masakkali! I think I speak for us all when I congratulate Mohit and request him not to give up on his desi pop career even though the biggest filmi composers will be knocking on his door day and night from now on! |
