The critics, who once applauded him for Amitabh Bachchan-Rani Mukherjee starrer Black, came down heavily on the director recently when his mega project Saawariya 'apparently was not up to their expectations.'

In a back lash against Shahrukh Khan's comments for saying he will destroy the competition, the otherwise calm director gave post release interviews making his anger apparent. He also seemed to be cross with the critics for putting the film down.
