Slowly but steadily this dusky actress has been moving up the Bollywood ladder recently.

She gave two big banner releases last year - Laga Chunari Mein Daag and Aaja Nachle. While she was not the leading lady of either of these movies, she did her role with great ease. While her roles have always been critically acclaimed, she has taken the song and dance routine of these commercial films also well.

As of now Konkana is slated to appear in more than half a dozen films ranging from Sunglass, Amavas, Jewellery Box, Meridian to Right or Wrong, Bubblegum and Shantaram.

Actress turned director Aparna Sen's daughter, Konkana does not shy away from Bengali and English movies.
