Shankar plans to shoot Robot over two years and if rumours are to believed he has now approached Deepika Padukone to star opposite Abhishek Bachchan in Robot.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was reportedly promised Rs 4 crore for Robot which is slated to be a bilingual venture - in Hindi and Tamil. The good thing was that she was being paired opposite husband Abhishek. After Mani Ratnam's Guru everyone is keen to see them together again. South superstar Rajnikant is also part of Robot's star cast.

It is being said that Aishwarya does not want to commit for two years hence she backed out from the film, leaving Shankar to do the search all over again.
