Shilpa Shetty reportedly wants ex-beau Akshay Kumar for her first home production.

It’s old dope that Shilpa wants to start her own production house and has already signed on director Manish Jha to make a full-on chick flick starring herself and most likely Bipasha Basu in front roles.

Now, Shilpa is adding more star value to her film by trying to rope in Akshay Kumar to play an important role in it. Being a certified hit giver that he is (with the exception of Tashan of late) Akshay’s presence in the film is sure going to be a crowd puller even though he may play a brief role in the film.

And to top it all, Akshay will be paired with Shilpa. The only hitch is that Akshay hasn’t given his final word yet.

It may be recalled that before his marriage to Twinkle Khanna , Akshay was romantically involved with Shilpa. But their love story ended abruptly, leaving many questions unanswered for their fans.

Now, their pairing is certainly likely to create a lot of curiosity.

The film will be directed by Manish Jha who made ‘Matrabhumi’ and ‘Anwar’. He has also directed a short story called ‘And It Rained’ for the omnibus film ‘Mumbai Cutting’. Truth be told, ‘And It Rained’ is just a mediocre short film, which looks more like a music video (with Palash Sen ) than a film.

Let’s hope Manish does something better than that for Shipa’s flick.
