Though the actor was not present, Abhay Deol still made his presence felt at the Cannes Film Festival recently. Dev Benegal's Road Movie that has Deol in the lead received a thunderous clapping at the festival.

Tannishtha Chatterjee plays Abhay's love interest in the movie.

A source told, "Abhay plays a truck driver whose life goes through a complete transformation. The way it is shown in the film influences the viewers. It inspires the audience to bring about a change in their lives too. Abhay's character is the kind the audience can easily relate to."

Road Movie shows Abhay meeting different people a young boy, a tribal woman, a silly and a wise man during his journey. "Road Movie has created a strong buzz at Cannes just like Slumdog Millionaire did recently," told the source.
