The leading man of New York John Abraham was conspicuously missing from Katrina’s side as she promoted their upcoming film on Salman’s television show.

Instead Neil Nitin Mukesh , the second lead of the film, gave company to Katrina Kaif for the shoot of an upcoming episode of the show. The episode will be telecast in the days leading up to the release of ‘New York’ in the coming weeks.

John was reportedly invited to the show but it’s unclear why did he not come. His cold equation with Salman is not a secret and that might have been the reason. Or may be the actor decided to miss the show because he’s nursing a foot injury.

Just a few days back, John’s foot got injured while shooting for David Dhawan’s film Hook Ya Crook.

The third reason why John did not show up could be because he did not want to rekindle the rumours of a brewing romance between him and Salman’s girl.

Whatever the reason, it was Neil who got to be Katrina’s courteous partner for the show. Sources from the show’s sets say the two stars enjoyed each other’s company and Katrina particularly seemed in a jovial mood.
