The much-awaited movie of the season, Kambakkht Ishq will hit the screens on July 3. The movie is already the talk of the town for Kareena Kapoor’s fashionable makeover and her pairing with Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar.
However, the buzz has it that this upcoming movie, directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is a remake of the 2002 Tamil movie Pammal K. Sambandam that starred superstar Kamal Hassan and Simran.
Amusingly, Akshay will enact Kamal Hassan’s role of a stuntman while Kareena will play a feminist like Simran did in the original.
The movie has the same story line where Kareena who is a doctor operates Akshay who is injured while saving her from an unavoidable danger. Just like in the Tamil movie, the doctor leaves her watch in the stuntman’s tummy which leads to she wooing the man to get him operated again to remove the watch; and how they finally fall in love.
Though the music of the movie is already topping the charts, the news about the movie being a remake has affected the enthusiasm amongst cine-goers.
Nadiadwala had earlier declared, “It will be an international love story on a lavish scale.”
Kambakkht Ishq explores the relationship between two individuals as dissimilar from each other as chalk and cheese. Akshay plays a stuntman in Hollywood while Kareena, who is a doctor and a model by profession, plays a feminist.
Kambakkht Ishq will also have Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh appearing in cameos.
