Most awaited movie Honour Killings has been filmed in Berkshire.

London-based director Avtar Bhogal, who has relatives in Slough and Maidenhead, tells "The whole film is set in Berkshire and 95 % has been filmed in Berkshire.”

He adds, "Slough has a multi-racial community so in the background you see a lot of Slough, and the marriage takes place where Prince Charles was married in Guild Hall in Windsor."

Honour Killings focuses on a prohibited love relationship between a Sikh and a Muslim, starring British-born Sandeep Singh and popular Pakistani actress Zara Sheikh.

Slumdog Millionaire choreographer Longi Fernandez created the bollywood dance numbers for the film.

A scene shot on the bridge over the Jubilee River between Eton and Datchet symbolizes a central theme of crossing religious divides.

"The scene on the bridges represents whether these two communities can make a bridge of love," tells Mr Bhogal.

He further adds, "That's how you cross over the river, that's how the two banks can meet."

The movie also stars Prem Chopra, a veteran of Hindi cinema, well-known Pakistani actor Jawed Sheikh, Indian-born English actor Tom Alter and Gulshan Grover, who has performed in hundreds of movies both in Bollywood and Hollywood.

The movie is called Rabba Maph Kare in Punjabi, which means God Forgive Us, and is slated for release in April or May 2010.
