‘Veer’ debutant Zarine Khan was a struggling model until one day she surprisingly got a call from Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts asking her to come over on the sets of the movie ‘Yuvvraaj.’
Zarine then met Salman and had talked about many things and that one chance meeting was changing her entire life. She was chosen by the megastar to act in his forthcoming period drama.

“I was literally the man of the house. I had a mother and a younger sister to look after as I don’t have a father. I call myself lucky, maybe destiny’s child. I was a struggling model who never really thought would make it big. I had the ambition but I did not have the means or the ways to fulfill them. I was doing small time work and getting recognized too,” tells a thrilled Zarine.

She further included, “I was surfing the internet one day and suddenly I got a call from Subhash Ghai’s company that I should come on their sets. For struggling artistes like me a call from a big banner means pick up your bag and run. I exactly did that.”
“On the sets I met Salman and I was too excited to see him. I adore him for many years and we made casual conversation for sometime post which I asked for his autograph. He told me it was now my time to sign autographs for the entire world and here I’m paired with him,” explains Zarine.
Salman Khan has given her a very wise advice. “He has told me to always remain down to earth no matter how much success I achieve. He says that way I will always be loved by one and all. According to him, the tag ‘I’m famous’ gets into anyone’s head it will be difficult to sustain and concentrate on what actors should always focus at doing, which is acting,” told a cautious Zarine. |
