After his recent release from jail this will be Sanjay Dutt's first release. In Indra Kumar's Dhamaal ironically he plays an Inspector Kabir Nayak.

Dhamaal is a gang-oriented film. It is basic, grass root comedy. There's no story, chase or run. Not for a minute will you stop laughing; it's a complete entertainer. It's about four useless and wasted losers. But they posses some important information, that Kabir is trying to seek.

Kabir has been chasing notorious criminal Bose played by Prem Chopra for ten long years. But Bose ends up dead and he ends being transferred.

In another track four lovable good-for-nothing pals work and live together.

These are Roy aka Riteish Deshmukh who has misconceptions of being the greatest detective in the world. In reality he mis-manages everything he tries to do. Then there is Aditya aka Arshad Warsi who pretends to be a great musician but soon the tape he is playing as his own music is discovered and he's showered with abuses. His encyclopedic half knowledge about everything only adds to the great expertise of this group: the final component of which is Mr. Scared of everything aka Ashish Choudhary played by Boman. He is terrorized by his father and bulled by his friends. He does his best to avoid getting into trouble but ends up attracting more. Then there is Jaaved Jaafery aka Manav who is Adi's adoring younger brother. He talks a lot, everything the wrong things at the wrong time.

These foursome do small con jobs for a living. One-day opportunity crosses their path. They try to save a dying man - Bose and their life is kind of made. Kabir Nayak is behind the same man they have tried to save but by the time Kabir finds Bose, he is dead.

So Kabir, desperate for his promotion, questions the foursome. Being small time con artists these four get vulnerable in front of Kabir and tell him the secret. They also manage to escape after that. And then begins the chase.

The chase, their adventures or call it misadventures promises to give the audience great laughs.
