Sanjay Leela Bhansali is back with his huge sets, a superb storyline and outstanding acting from his actors. Guzaarish will take you to an alternate universe because the story is set in the backdrop of a wonderful place Goa , but you will never be able to recognize the place.
A booming magician Ethan Mascarenhas (Hrithik Roshan), takes to the wheelchair following the failure of one of his tricks. He has lost interest in life following quadriplegia and is locked inside his palace like home for the last fourteen years despite having lots of well wishers. He remains locked inside the house all these years until a caring nurse Sophia (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) enters into his life. They share a strange friendship, which cannot be termed a typical romantic relation. Their much talked chemistry is the USP of the movie.
However, you will surprised to see Sophia in a floor length skirt, which is usually not worn by the nurses in real life and these few things make it a story from a different world. Some of the characters in the movie make very brief appearances. One is that of Sophia's rude husband and the other is Ethan's competitor, who puts a lifelong blemish on him.
Like any other Bhansali film, you will not be disappointed with some soothing music. The characters will be often speaking in English.
Ethan is asking for euthanasia through his advocate friend Shernaz Patel but at the same time he was seen running a radio show called ‘Radio Zindagi'. It sounds very ironical considering the fact that he is asking for mercy death.
However, you will not be let down spend some bucks on this film. Hrithik's depiction of a Quadriplegic patient is something very challenging for the actor but he has done justice to it so don't miss it.
Overall, it is a worthy to watch for seeing Sanjay Leela Bhansali's art.
