Kunal (Munish Khan) is a professional based in Mumbai, whose life is saved by Raghu (Zakir Hussain) in an accident. Kunal is grateful to Raghu, and promises to help him in any capacity. Problems arise when Kunal realizes that his savior is a professional killer with Mumbai's underworld, when one night, Raghu barges into Kunal's home being shot in shoulder. As the night progresses, Kunal delves deeper to save Raghu from his enemies, but ends up dragging his girlfriend Ishita (Sara Khan) in danger. He's finally left with only two choices – either he can save his girlfriend or the person who gave him second life.

Direction could have been more sharp and enthralling. The movie picks up pace at times but looses the control due to untidy writing.

Zakir Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari and Gulshan Grover are remarkable in their roles. Lead actors Munish Khan and Sara Khan are okay in their parts, but need improvisation.

‘Payback' has an appealing plot and concept, but is wordy and predictable. Shabby writing and bad screenplay make it boring to watch. New cast has nothing great in contribution, whereas seasoned actors are in their elements.

It is an average film.
