Director Subhash Kapoor, who is just two movies old, will be competing with two well settled directors of Bollywood this Friday at the Box Office. His comedy Phas Gaye Re Obama will be a break for those, who want to avoid watching serious movies this week.
Ram Gopal Varma's Rakta Charitra 2 and Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey will give a tough competition to Kapoor's film.
Phas Gaye Re Obama is a comedy based on the global recession and how it affects the recession-hit abduction industry. The director has given a inspirational take on this serious global issue. The otherwise glamour girl Neha Dhupia will be seen in a very humorous avatar of ‘Munni Gangster'. Her ‘female Gabbar Singh' act is a very dramatic representation of the character and she has done it very believably.
On the other hand, Rajat Kapoor as the bankrupt NRI Om Shastri has given a wonderful act that makes him look like a really lost businessman. When he comes back to India after seven years with a hope to sell his ancestral ‘haveli', the local gangster Bhaisaab (Sanjay Mishra) kidnaps him.
Rishi's character Anni is an assistant of Bhaisaab and is smitten by the idea of earning dollar. He is a great fan of Obama and wears ties and bandanas with those Stars and Stripes print.
The film is made with a very small budget of Rs 3 crore but it is absolutely going to do well at the Box Office with such a laugh riot.
Overall, it is worthy to watch.
