Veteran actress Shashikala will be honoured by Government of India with Padmashree award. Emiment personalities who worked with her have expressed their happiness over the decision. According to her co-actor Chandrashekhar, it is laudable though belated and she fully deserves it. Chandrashekhar avers that he was fortunate to have worked with Shashikala and recalls that they had got recognition together in many films including V. Shantaram’s Surang in the early fifties. Shashikala has worked with stalwarts like Bimal Roy, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, B.R. Chopra and Mohan Sehgal. .
