In support of the Dubai Health Authority's 'Go Red for Women'
campaign, prominent Indian fashion designer Salim Asgarally put
up his latest spring-summer collection at the 'Bride 2008' exhibition
held in Dubai this week.
Aptly titled 'Colours of Life', the collection was displayed on
ramp, with a spectacular fashion show comprising vibrant Arabic
galebiyas, sarees, kameezes and Indian bridals.

"The collection unveiled the beauty and innocence of a woman,
wherein red stands for her ever loving heart," said Asgarally,
who received thunderous applause after the show. "The need
to take care of this heart which nurtures life as a mother, daughter
and wife, calls for attention to the cause of the health campaign
to spread awareness about the risk of cardiovascular illnesses
amongst women," he added.
The collection was also aimed to promote cultural ties between
Indian and Arabic people. The Arabic galebiyas were created in
hues of yellow, maroon, red, turquoise, silver and gold, with
Indian embroideries. The range of sarees was coupled with long
sleeved vintage blouses. The line of kameezes and evening dresses
used the latest trapeze silhouette and was trimmed liberally with
metallic accents in gold and silver.
The spectacular showing found its finale in a red bridal outfit
which epitomized the need to take care of women's hearts in keeping
with the 'Go Red for Women' campaign.
