Will the ridiculous happen in the month of July i.e. two movies starring Salman Khan in the lead releasing on the same day? Well, this certainly seems to be happening with both MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA and WANTED aiming for a 3rd July release. While WANTED has been under production for close to two years now, MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA is a new venture with UTV going ahead and closing on the release date.

On the other hand in case of WANTED, there have been speculations around it’s release ever since it came on floors. This is for the first time though that a definite date has been assigned against the movie.



Tells an industry insider, “It won’t be favorable for either Salman Khan or Bollywood if both the movies arrive on the same day. Salman Khan’s career is at an all time low today with duds like YUVVRAAJ, GOD TUSSI GREAT HO and MARIGOLD behind him. In fact his last success was PARTNER, which was around two years back. That too had starred Govinda so it wasn’t a sole lead hit in any case. Salman really needs a hit today and the last thing he would want is to have two of his movies releasing together.”

Both the movies come with their own strengths. It has been quite a while since Salman was seen in an action movie and WANTED is just the kind of subject that would show him in a different light. On the other hand MAIN AUR MRS. KHANNA is an urban light hearted romantic comedy with a Hollywood touch to it.

Just for Salman’s fans sake, one hopes that the makers of the two movies call a truce and space them out well.
