The Bengali bombshell of Bollywood recently got back to her roots. The stunning lady made a debut in a Bengali film by the ace filmmaker, Rituparno Ghosh. The movie is called Abohamaan that was screen at Mumbai Film Festival on 1st of November.
"I refused every offer I got for Bengali movies as I wanted to start my career in Bengali films with a Rituparno Ghosh film. I was waiting for the right opportunity," told Riya.
Speaking about the movie, it’s a story of a Bengali filmmaker who marries an actress. The actress sacrifices her career for love and marriage. Later, the director falls in love with another young actress and that leads to a scandal.
The movie also stars Dipankar Dey, Jisshu Sengupta, Mamata Shankar and Ananya Chatterjee who play important roles in the film.
"Riya has a small role, yet it is significant and it is her introduction to Bengali cinema," told Ghosh.
Interestingly, Ghosh is in process of making a film with her sister Raima that shall be screened next year. |
