Balki's 'Paa' is yet to be released but the first promos of the movie are out. It is unimaginable the degree to which prosthetics can change one's look. When one looks at the manner in which Amitabh Bachchan has been transformed in the film, it is quite remarkable.

The look is so different that one wouldn't even know it is Bachchan, until told so.
Visibly, even the Big B's son had the same problem when he bumped into his father for the first time on the sets of Balki's 'Paa'. Abhishek who plays his father's father in the movie, is believed to have been totally stunned at the way his father looked and behaved. Of course, playing the father on screen, he was able to get away with a little bit of bullying,
but once 'cut' was announced, the original father son equation was re-established. It's not just Bachchan's look which has the Junior B in rapture but his performance as well.
As everyone knows, Abhishek is the film's producer and all he wants to do is make his father proud of him. He knows how difficult it is to steal a scene from his father and knows that he will probably be overshadowed, one of the hazards of working with an actor like his father. But Abhishek's ensures that it doesn't get to him.
This film will see Abhishek being paired opposite Vidya Balan for the first time.
Incidentally, the Big B has some very interesting roles lined up, with 'Paa' leading the brigade, followed by Ram Gopal Verma's 'Rann' and Leena Yadav's 'Teen Patti'. |
