Dimple Kapadia’s sister, Simple Kapadia passed away at a local hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday afternoon. She was an actor and costume designer. She even won the National Award for costume design for the movie, Rudaali. Simple had been battling cancer for three years. She was 50.

It is believed that Simple suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken by her elder sister Dimple to the hospital. She passed away in the afternoon.



Simple had been living with her sister for the last three years. In fact, Dimple even refused to take up work for three years to take care of her ailing sister.

Born on August 15, 1958, Simple started her career as an actor with her (then) brother-in-law, Rajesh Khanna, in the movie Anurodh in 1976. The audiences rejected the movie but she continued acting in about 20 more films like Lootmaar, Pyaar Ke Do Pal, Jeevan Dhara, Shaaka and Rehguzar. She stopped acting in 1986.

After a break of nearly 10 years, Simple returned to Bollywood as a dress designer for Sunny Deol and Dimple Kapadia.
