Akshay Kumar is one of those actors of Bollywood that have made India proud.

And presume what? He has done it again! Akshay ‘Khiladi’ Kumar has been the brand ambassador for Special Olympics World Winter Games for the past three years and now he has moved a step above. The actor would be the torch bearer for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games at Vancouver in Canada.



“At a high power and exclusive lunch for 50 CEOs of prominent tourism companies, the Canadian PM will introduce Akshay as the sole torch bearer from India for the Olympics. The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) will bring the Olympic Torch to the luncheon. This will be the first time an exception is being made and the Olympic Torch will be presented to an actor and not a sports person,” verifies a source from Indian Olympic Committee.

Akshay would fly for Canada for the games held from 30th January- 14th February 2010.
