An overwhelmed Saif Ali Khan, who has been honored with the Padma Shree national honor has thanked all his directors for his successful movie career.

“I am very proud and honored to have received this honor. I would like to thank my family and loved ones who have been there for me and the industry for supporting me,” told Saif in an email.

“I would particularly like to thank Imtiaz Ali, Aditya Chopra, Karan Johar, Ramesh Taurani, Farhan Akhtar, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Siddharth Anand, Kunal Kohli and Vishal Bhardwaj for having faith in me and making me who I am today,” wrote Saif.

Saif made his debut with 'Aashiq Awara' in 1992, but had to struggle a lot till 'Dil Chahta Hai’ in 2001. Farhan Akhtar directed movie marked a turning point in his career. His list of the hits include 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Ek Hasina Thi', 'Hum Tum', 'Parineeta', 'Salaam Namaste', 'Omkara' and 'Love Aaj Kal'.Wonderful Aamir told that his mom’s smiling face flashed in his eyes when he got the news of being honored with the Padma Bhushan.

“I'm so happy to receive this unique honor. The first thing that comes to my mind is my mother's smiling face," told Aamir in a SMS from Utah, US. He is attending the Sundance Film Festival. ‘Peepli Live,’ his production venture, had its world premiere there Sunday night.

"I only wish, I was back home right now. I would like to thank god for these happy moments, and all my fans and well-wishers for their love, support and good wishes," told the 44 year old actor.
