Veteran Bollywood actor Om Puri and his wife Nandita Puri have decided to end their 16 years old marriage. The two were seen together recently at the Jaipur Literature Festival, walking hand in hand.

With the problems arising from some time, the sexually explicit revelations made by Nandita in the biography of her husband, ‘Unlikely Hero: Om Puri,’ played the major role in the decision to go apart. Om Puri’s sexual relationships, particularly with his maid and caretaker, became a key talking point for the media, and the actor and his biographer wife had a public and bitter spat over it. But they both kissed up and made up in public. Also, some close friends named in the biography were not at all happy by their names being dragged and Puri had to work out to get it settled. Puri’s first wife Seema Kapoor and their growing closeness could also be one of the reasons. She had helped Puri a lot during his early days in the industry.

Puri has said in various media interactions that he was not happy with these critical omissions in the tell-all biography. Puri has denied seeking legal consultation, but scuttlebutt says that he is seriously considering divorce and has even spoken to the famous divorce lawyer Mrinalini Deshmukh earlier this month. “Nothing has been filed before the court yet. However, he is under legal advice on this,” told Mrinalini.

Puri is said to have moved out of his Seven Bungalows residence, where he lived with wife Nandita and son Ishaan, and is now staying in Seema’s office and has also changed his phone number.
