Actor Kunal Kapoor has joined the star cast of Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Don 2’, in which he will play a complete new character, the producer Ritesh Sidhwani informed.

It was earlier reported that Arjun Rampal opted out from the movie due to creative differences, but Ritesh denies such happening. The latest news in the industry hints that Arjun was demanding huge fees for the role, which was not accepted by the producers of the movie.

“Kunal Kapoor hasn’t replaced Arjun in the movie. There is no Jasjeet in the movie. Instead we have introduced three new parts in the film and Kunal plays one of them and Lara Dutta plays the second one. We still have to cast for the third character. From the original cast we have Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani and Om Puri. When did we say that Arjun was part of Don 2?” he told.

In the meantime, Kunal is overjoyed to have joined the ‘Don’ star cast. 

“I am very excited about the role, as well as being part of a huge franchise like ‘Don’. And the fact that I get to share screen space with SRK makes it twice as exciting,” told an overjoyed Kunal.

The shooting for the movie is said to begin by the year end.
