It was a moment of pleasure for the Bachchan family when Amitabh Bachchan walked up the stage to receive the National Award for his stellar performance as a 13 year-old-kid suffering from progeria in son Abhishek Bachchan’s home production Paa. It visibly must have felt great to be honoured by the President of India.

Abhishek Bachchan also won the award for ‘Paa’ as the film’s producer. The film was named the best Hindi movie.

“Felt a sense of pride and happiness to see Abhishek walk up to the President for his award as producer for ‘Paa’. But really… a wonderful moment for the family – Jaya, Aishwarya, Niky and Shweta all in the audience, cheering and applauding and feeling pride and passion for the moment,” Big B wrote on social networking website.

Aishwarya Rai, Jaya Bachchan and Abhishek’s sister Shweta Bachchan-Nanda and her industrialist husband Nikhil were present at the function held in New Delhi.
