Putting an end to enormous speculations, filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra has confirmed that actor Sharman Joshi will be playing the lead role in his ambitious project ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’.

Earlier, it was speculated that Shah Rukh Khan will be playing the lead role, and even cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar was reported to be doing a cameo role in the movie.

Sharman shot to fame with Chopra’s ‘3 Idiots’, also starring Aamir Khan and R Madhavan. Even Aamir was speculated to be doing the movie with Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

“We have seen the screen test of Sharman Joshi, and strongly feel that he has understood the character and done a brilliant job in the screen test,” told Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Sharman will have high hopes pinned up with ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’, as he has been part of many multistarrer movies.

The movie goes on floors in February 2011, and will be directed by debutant director Rajesh Mapuskar, who has assisted Raju Hirani.
