Leaving behind actors like Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh has at last been finalized to star in the remake of the blockbuster Telugu movie Magadheera.

Originally, Ranbir Kapoor was the director's first choice. However, it's now confirmed that Ranveer will be playing the lead role, that of a medieval warrior, in the movie.

The remake rights have been purchased by Vikas Bahl who is also the producer of the film and director Anurag Kashyap.

It is heard that Ranveer will have to work very hard for the movie, as his part includes tough action sequence. There will be a lot of sword fighting too. The actor will have to undergo a lot of physical training to fit the role. He will also be sporting long hair, in the movie.

Confirming the news, Producer Bahl told, “Ranveer is the best thing that could have happened to it. He has all the ingredients to be a passionate lover, a warrior and an entertainer.”

The original Telugu blockbuster movie starred Ram Charan Teja and Kajal Aggarwal. Magadheera is a historic love story.
