![]() After the Award Winning Debut in Hyderabad blues as a Director , Nagesh Kukunoor has come up with a totally different concept in Bombay to Bankok. The story is about Shreyas Talpade (Shankar) who is a canteen cook .Suddenly one day his life takes a huge turn when he mistakenly he gets the possession of a huge some of money that belonged to a dangerous Don. To get away from the don he then flew to Thailand masking himself with a group of doctors who had gone for some charity purpose. There he fell in love with a girl (Lena Christianson) who was a social worker but to his surprise she was a sex worker as well. But that was not all even the doctors with whom he fled to Thailand, wanted to trap him in some drug scam. Lately he realizes that his life is becoming complex day by day.
Nagesh Kukunoor’s films do not emphasize too much on music but in this movie some efforts have been given to music as well. The title track of Bombay to Bankok has been composed and sung by Sukhwinder Singh .Versatile singers like K.K , Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan have also lent their voice in the movie. They have also used songs from old hindi movies in the first half to add a little spice to it.
The film though is different from the usual trend of Nagesh Kukunoor’s films, but still the charm that was seen in Dor and Iqbal was somewhere missing in this movie. He has made his first attempt in the genre of comedy and to an extent have done a remarkably well.
Shreyas Talpade is the eye candy in this movie as usual. Starting from his debut in bollywood with Shreyas has grown over the years in terms of his acting. In this movie , though he did not get much to show his acting skills but he surely is the crowd puller for this movie.
In short, If you want to see a totally different genre of Nagesh Kukunoor’s films then Bombay to Bankok is for sure, a must watch film to see his excellence on all phase of Indian Cinema.
