![]() It always has to be something different and excellent whenever it comes to Oscar nominated Director Ashutosh Gowarikar. Starting from Oscar nominated movie Lagaan, Swades to Jodha Akbar, Ashutosh Gowarikar is doing better and better each day. The film Jodha Akbar is about the relationship between the legendary king of all times Akbar (played by Hrithik Roshan) and his Rajpoot wife Jodha (played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). Akbar, been given the responsibility of the thrown and the kingdom at the early age of 13, is how the movie starts. The matrimonial alliance between the Moghuls and the Rajpooth is the main theme of the story.
This is Ashutosh Gowarikar’s biggest venture and the most awaited movie as we have not seen much of him after Swades. This time he has come up with an epic love story, the story of Jodha and Akbar. The plotline is flawless and the excellence of the director shows with all the research work done in making of the movie and the work with the sets along with cinematography and also with dress and all other technicalities which takes us back to the Moghul era during our three hours journey. The movie keeps us connected to the story and not once do we feel that there is something missing in the film. It’s just perfect!
Hrithik Roshan and Aishwairya Rai Bachchan has done an amazing job in the movie. The scene where Princess Jodha and Akbar have sword war was an amazing sequence and perfectly made. Ashwairya has perfectly matched the Hindu princess character especially in the scene on her wedding night her beauty looks breathless. The scenes of war have been done with a touch of maturity especially the last scene where Akbar goes to fight one to one with his brother in law for the possession of the kingdom of India.
Music is the beauty of the movie, starting from the Quawalli Khwaja Mere Khwaja to Azeem o Shaan Shehanshah, the music itself tells the story. The A R Rehman and Gowarikar duo has again done an excellent job after Lagaan. The Qawalli Khwaja mere khwaja is an excellent piece of music. All the songs in the movie is complementing with the situations it has been put into like the song Kehne ko jashnabahara hain where it shows the growing relationship of Jodha and Akbar and the love in the air.
