![]() The movie Khuda Ke liye is a Pakistani/ Hindi language film directed by Shoaib Mansoor and has also won award for the Best Picture in the 31st International Cairo Film Festival. The movie is based on the difficulties that the Pakistani’s and the Muslims in general faced after the 9/11 incident that happened in USA. It is all about clash between the educated Muslims who has a western attire and being, on one hand, accused and harassed by the Muslim fundamentalists ,and on the other hand are on the list of being prime suspects by the westerns on their having links with terrorism.
This movie deals with a serious issues and hence given a good treatment. This movie does not deal with the usual saga of romance and dancing round the trees, as most of the Hindi and Pakistani movies are. It brings forth an issue that need to be sorted out, as soon as possible. This movie is the voice of the Muslim community all over the world who is seeking help for justice and equality.
The story revolves around Mansoor (Shaan) and Sarmad (Fawad Khan) who are brothers and hard core musicians and belonged to well to do Pakistani family. They are separated by religious extremism as one of the brothers falls in to, and turns in a Jihadi. The other is a victim of racial discrimination. Mansoor goes to Chicago to join a music school and hence forth fall for an American and marries her where as the other brother Samsad marries his cousin. Their uncle on the other hand is worried about his daughter getting involved with an American, and traps her to visit Pakistan and forcefully gets her married to someone of their own community. The two brother’s fight for existence and their rights is what the story is all about.
Shoaib has given a very important issue a shape and have treated it with full maturity. The story line is very different and has the power to keep you involved through out. Not only in Pakistan the movie has done very good business in India as well. He has not only excelled in his direction but has also done a good job with the lyrics of the songs. The songs have been beautifully composed by Mark Berlin and they are not situational but they continue in the back ground.
