A multi starrer Thriller Race is a story of
two brothers, Ranveer (Saif Ali Khan) and Rajeev (Akshay Khanna) who always
tries to out do each other. Ranveer is a hard core business man who has
a passion to win. Rajveer on the other hand is a spoilt younger brother
and is happy to be so. He is more into liquor and his actions are controlled
by his drinking habits.
The story is all about betrayal and greed. Rajveer in order to get hold
of the property and the insurance money, tricks his brother to death with
the help of his brother’s secretary Sophia (Katrina Kaif). The story
takes a turn when Ranveer (Saif Ali Khan) comes back to follow his younger
brother’s footsteps to trick him back and in this process he is
helped by the love of his life Sonia (Bipasha Basu) along with investigator
Robert D Costa (Anil Kapoor) and his assistant mini (Sameera Reddy).
The movie has some eye catching cast like Saif Ali Khan with his new rugged
look, Akshay Khanna who is playing negative in the film along with the
bomb shell Katrina Kaif. Bipasha Basu is also amazing in her looks and
style. The introduction scene of Saif Ali Khan makes the girls weak on
their knees. Katrina has looked amazingly beautiful in her solo song love
me kiss me touch me. The movie is given a totally different treatment
as far as the suspense is concerned. With every passing incident the movie
takes a new turn and leaves the audience spell bound.
The music is very peppy and youthful. The song Allah Duhai Hain has done
good business. Pritam has done excellent work with his music in Race after
his hit in Metro. The music has already hit the dance floors and people
are really enjoying to dance to the tune of Race Hain Saanso ki. The song
Pehli Nazar Mein has again marked the versatility of Atif Aslam after
his success in Bas Ek Pal in the industry.
The movie is an action thriller as most of Abbas
Mustan’s movies are expected to be. It also has a tint of romance
and humor. This time the film has a totally different story line and the
title of the film Race just explains it all. In all respect the film is
well structured, musical thriller and a must watch film.
