After Aamir Khan’s spell bound directorial debut in Taare Zameen Par, Ajay Devgan now keeps us glued to the screens with his debut venture U Me aur Hum.

U Me Aur Hum is an emotional drama which stars Kajol, and Ajay Devgan in the lead roles. The movie is about Ajay and Pia who fall in love and get married, but later on their marriage hits a medical calamity. The couple fights over this problem to grow up to become “Hum”.

The movie starts with a middle aged man narrating a story to a woman sitting alone. His story takes us 25 years back , where a guy named Ajay (a psychiatrist) falls for Piya (a waitress in the cruise ), who served drinks to him and his friends. From there on, starts the love story - how he woos the woman, almost loses her and wins her back.

It takes a turn when they get married and Ajay discovers that Piya is suffering from a disease named Alzheimer-wherein she forgets things very often. Being a psychiatrist himself Ajay understand the gravity of the situation. He feels helpless as there is no solution to this problem, which is becoming dangerous for their baby with every passing day.

Ajay Devgan has not only excelled as a director but has also proved himself as a writer. The film is totally based on relationships and what it takes to make a marriage work .The movie has some excellent work in cinematography, all the credit goes to Aseem Bajaj. Ashwini Dheer has also done an amazing work with his thought provoking and impressive dialogues. Not only as a director but as an actor also Ajay Devgan has done an excellent job. The scene where he slides down on the floor outside the hospital, just after he almost loses his baby. Even the romantic –flirtatious scenes in the starting of the film are like a breeze.

As an actor this role must be one of his best roles. Kajol, being a top notch actress has done a commendable job. Especially the scenes where she is in the rehab centre, Kajol brings out a bouquet of emotions and one almost empathizes with her.

She has played such a complex character for the first time in her career and has done full justice to her character.

Music, composed by Vishal Bhradwaj complements the story and is doing fairly well. The title song of the movie is very touching and goes with the flow of the movie. Adnan Sami and Shreya Ghosal have lent their voice to Ajay Devgan and Kajol.

To summarize U Me Aur Hum is an emotionally touching movie with an exact tint of humor, wit, intelligence and imagination and excellent performances by the cast.
