Jay Sean and Raghav to Light up B4U Diwali
Two of the UK’s biggest Asian artists are to take the stage at Birmingham’s Diwali celebrations which will be sponsored by B4UTVONLINE.COM. Jay Sean will return to the West Midlands biggest Diwali party on Sunday 9 November, 2008 and he will be joined by Raghav as well as some of the biggest rising stars from the Asian music scene.
Jay Sean, who has been nominated for two MOBO Awards (the Best UK Male and Best R‘n’B artist) as well as two nominations in the Urban Music Awards (Best R‘n’B artist and Best Album), will perform tracks from his latest album (My Own Way).Raghav, also a multi- awarded winner, is returning to the UK music scene and will perform his single (My Kinda Girl) and songs from the new album (Identity).
For the last time, Millennium Point will play host to the B4U Diwali which is organised jointly by the Hindu Council of Birmingham and Birmingham City Council and is also supported by B4U MUSIC , the number one Asian channel in the UK, who will transmit the event across the UK and around the world . The stage line-up also includes some of the hottest new talent in the Asian music scene and some favourites from past events as well as performers from the local community. Artists include:

The B4U Diwali celebrations start early in the afternoon (3.00pm-7.00pm) and includes:
:: Birmingham’s young Poet Laureate will recite a specially written Diwali poem.
:: A Sports Zone with cricket, football and kabaddi demonstrations
:: A Kids Zone comprising facing paintings, cartoon shows, mask making, games, competitions and a music and dance workshop to keep the children entertained
:: A ‘Bazaar’ will provide the perfect marketplace to buy late Diwali presents or, for the well organised, get the perfect Christmas gifts
:: Fun Fair rides
:: A fantastic fireworks display
:: B4U stall as well as having your say about Diwali on B4U cameras
Mahendra Dabhi, president of the Hindu Council of Birmingham, said: “This is definitely the strongest stage line up we have ever had. It is testament to the quality and growing reputation of the West Midlands biggest Diwali celebration that such great artists are willing come and perform.
“The B4U Diwali extravaganza will have a huge number of attractions to suit all members of the family and all members of the community and this joyous celebration that symbolises the power of good to triumph over evil has significance and meaning for all of Birmingham’s communities.”

B4U Diwali, concludes the British Asian Hafta and is also supported by BBC WM, BBC Midlands Today, Asian FX and the Eastern Media Group the publishers of Eastern Voice and the Sikh Times.
Diwali falls on Tuesday 28 October and more than one billion Hindus around the world, including the 700,000 Hindus and the many hundreds of thousands of Sikhs and Jains in Britain will be commemorating one of their most important festivals.
The B4U Diwali will take place in the heart of the city at Millennium Point, Curzon Street, Birmingham B4 7XG on Sunday 9 November 2008 from 3:00pm until 7.00pm.
