B4U’s new release, Tanu Weds Manu, heralds the entry of new musical talent – Krsna.

The young Mumbai based producer makes his debut as music composer delivering a sizzling soundtrack and background score to Tanu Weds Manu, a new romantic comedy starring Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut and Jimmy Shergill. The multi-talented music maker also makes his singing debut on the soundtrack voicing the enchanting track Rangrez.

Already attracting plenty of buzz thanks to Krsna’s catchy compositions and song lyrics by Rajshekhar, the seven track album features top Punjabi vocalists Lehmbur Hussainpuri and Mika, alongside distinguished Indian playback singers Sunidhi Chauhan and Roop Kumar Rathod.

Schooled in Kolkata and a graduate in films and video communication from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, Krsna, shifted to Mumbai in 2000 to pursue his dreams. His musical learning has mostly been self taught listening to pop, R&B and soft rock during his formative years. “It’s only when I struggled in Mumbai with my half nurtured dreams of becoming a pop singer and dabbled into music direction for the ad film industry, I realised the importance of learning Indian music formally,” says Krsna.

Having begun his professional career by directing and producing adfilms, Krsna wasn’t shy in making a move towards his real passion - music production. He started Hindustani classical training less than three years ago under Ustad Mehboob Khan and soon realised he was on the right track.

“Since my heart always remained in music, I quite naturally changed my destined path in a year or two. I put behind my professional training of film making without a second thought and started focusing only on music direction for jingles, corporate theme songs and likewise,” explains Krsna. “And with every project I kept learning hands on about music production and the technology involved, from concept to completion. That was the only experience I gathered which came to good use in my debut feature Tanu Weds Manu.”

When he felt ready to venture out in Bollywood, Krsna met Aanand L. Rai (director of Tanu Weds Manu), who had only one song written out by then called Manu Bhaiya. “I borrowed the lyrics from Rajshakhar (lyricist) and presented him a scratch the next very day for the same song. That was all he ever needed to hand me over the responsibility for rest of the film and the background score,” explains Krsna. “As of today, I’m poised for my big day of the movie's worldwide release on 25th February 2011.
