YRF launches a Hollywood-based production company named YRF Entertainment! Our very own desi studio giant Yash Raj Films has forayed into the international market by launching a Hollywood-based production and financing company named YRF Entertainment. The banner will produce international content, and will solely focus on developing and producing feature films for the international market. Uday Chopra will serve as the CEO of YRF Entertainment and has already hired Jonathan Reiman to head development and production under him. The company has already launched its debut film titled The Longest Week featuring Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde and Billy Crudup, which sounds like a strong start. Here’s hoping YRF Entertainment does well!     Anne Hathaway engages with her boyfriend Adam Shulman! Anne Hathaway ain’t a single lady no more, after she and her boyfriend Adam Shulman recently got engaged. The actress and her actor-turned-jewelry designer beau have been together for three years, and I hear that he helped design the shiny ring that Anne’s currently flashing around town. Word on the street has it that they’re planning an autumn 2012 wedding, and she’s going to walk to the altar in a Valentino gown. Nitty-gritties aside, we just hope Anne and Shulman make it to the finish-line together!     Scarlett Johansson will direct film Summer Crossing! Scarlett Johansson is set to go down a new path by turning director with a project titled Summer Crossing. The 26-year-old diva says that she’s wanted to direct ever since she watched Robert Redford direct The Horse Whisperer 14 years ago, and she’s teaming up with the Oscar-winning producer Barry Spikings on the project. You book lovers will be interested to know that Summer Crossing is a movie adaptation of Truman Capote's first novel which was written in the 40’s but was lost for half a century before eventually being published in 2004. It’s story focuses on an 18-year-old woman who breaks free of her rich family to discover her own identity and sexuality after World War II. Let’s see how it turns out !     A mishap happens during the making of GI Joe 2! Being a part of film crews is getting exceedingly dangerous these days. After a spot boy was decapitated on the sets of Devdas and a stuntman was left paralyzed after falling during the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, there’s now been a mishap during the making of GI Joe 2: Retaliation. Apparently a locally hired worker in New Orleans was operating a high-powered scissor lift while tearing down a set when the machine tipped over and he sustained fatal injuries. GI Joe 2’s producers Paramount is currently cooperating with investigating agencies to examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident. I really hope there was no foul play or lack of attention to detail.     Director Shekhar Kapor’s next is the murder mystery London Fields! Shekhar Kapur is set to return to the helm of things in Hollywood after the director signed on to direct the murder mystery London Fields. The film will be based on Martin Amis' novel that’s told from the point of view of an American writer living in London who has had writer's block for 20 years and is now terminally ill. Just so you know how quirky the tale is, let me tell you that other characters in the plot include a psychic woman who meets two men in a bar and senses that one of them will murder her on her 35th birthday! Filming on London Fields is set to begin next year, and Shekhar is also simultaneously prepping Elizabeth 3. Watch out for both projects!
